I haven't had much time for dramas in the last few days but on the plus note, Baby Mousie is now trying to shape consonants with her mouth, really really hard - I think she is trying to say the letter "p". Her babble now sounds a bit more like talking. chipper1. I did catch up on ep 12 of Black and White which was (big shock, here) awesome. The confrontation with Zai Tian and Chen Lin = winning my heart. I confess I am getting more and more 2. Where are the subs for Smile? I can't find any past ep 2. It's Matsujun, people. Matsujun. You are telling me that if a subber is slow others won't pick up the slack? *emoface*. Must have more Bito and Hana as am in mad withdrawal. This is the first jdrama I've been interested in, in a year+ and with my luck it's the one with irregular subs. If the subs are not coming out ever again, fine, I'll watch raw (because that's how much I love it) but still, *repeat emoface*. 3. Speaking of jdramas, I really need to continue Byakuyakou. I stopped a bit back but I loved it - must watch more. Ditto for Ice World. Am clearly lamo with no attention span. 4. Still haven't had a chance to start Brilliant Legacy but this pic of the leads cracked me up immensely: ![]() ( Larger hilarious pic of male lead ) 5. Is it just me or does this promo shot for Swallow the Sun makes them look like Asian version of G.I. Joe? ![]() I especially love the dude in the pimpalicious yellow jacket. It's his cammo when he infiltrates the color-blind. But, oh boy, how is Ji Sung so darn pretty? He remains the only kdrama star, besides Hae Hee, who looked good even with the military haircut. 6. I have just discovered (yes am backward) the streaming feature on Netflix. Buh-bye world as I shall be occupied by it: they have all sorts of things there, from silent movies to anime (I am sure subbed but even if I prefer dubbed, I don't prefer it enough to not watch via streaming) 7. I think we have someone auditioning for being Young Voldemort: ![]() I haven't seen pop star TOP (what kind of a name is it anyway? Is there another member of his band named BOTTOM?) in anything, but this pic, ott moody as it is, got me even more excited for IRIS, where he plays an assassin, presumably after our awesome leading man, Lee Byung Hun. 8. Because one can never have too much of the adorable Yoon Kye Sang (Sister in law is 19, Crazy for You, Who are you), here is a pic from upcoming Triple: ( Pic here ) 9. Dumas' The Women's War is quite entertaining - I don't care for the hero (don't hate him or anything but he is not particuarly compelling) but not only are the poltics fun, the two female lead characters, the "well-behaved" Claire de Cambes (who nontheless rides around dressed as a man and is actively involved in a Civil War) and Nanon de Lartigues (a very clever, ambitious lover of a powerful old Duke. She is portrayed positively, which I loved) are very very awesome. I think they should stop competing for the love of a rather light-weight hero and instead have an awesome lesbian affair. 10. Get to see Star Trek this weekend. So excited!

With the possible exception of Bollywood, nobody, but nobody, makes romantic scenes like the Koreans. bouncyThis scene from ep 14 of Who Are You, where Seung Hyo "walks" Young In home in the rain, is one of the most dreamlike, romantic scenes I have seen. ![]() ( Enter here for gorgeousness ) But it's not the only awesome scene there is in WAY. ![]() ( Some other romantic scenes I adore. Beat-up guys, kissing, and tears ) And now I need a lie-down.

I am shipping Seung Hyo and Young In like crazy. My favorite scene is this (from ep 11). When she tells him she loves him and that she is younger than him, so she won't die first. When she tells him "I won't leave you alone," he melts and so do I (he has huge abandonment issues, understandably. Hearing as to why he keeps turtles as pets made me so sad!). Of course, the Dad is there, as a ghost, vociferously disapproving of it all, and saying things like 'only those who have known love can give love' (i.e. since he's never been loved and has been abandoned, he can't give love. Yikes. Ouch). bouncy![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ( But there are so many other awesome scenes. Enter here! ) ETA: Ep 13 OMG ![]()

I so very much ship them! bouncy![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It totally makes sense Seung Hyo is going to fall for Young In: forget loved ones or friends, he doesn't even have acquiantances. She is probably the first person he really interacted with on a personal level. And she is certainly the first to yell back at him. Glee. (Also, not to be pervy or anything, but with his extreme OCD/neatness fetish added with his emotional issues, I doubt he's had any relationships with women, physical or otherwise). Also, I think it's with this ep (ep 7) that we begin to see he is abrupt and even rude but he doesn't come across as a jerk any more.

I am enjoying Who Are You, the way I haven't loved a drama in ages. It's funny, and sad, and clever, and with a twist of mystery. And I don't mean the mystery of who killed Il Gun or what happens when 49 days of ghost time are up, but more everyday, lovely mysteries: how will Young In (Go Ara, who is spectacular) cope with her life, which is something no 20-year-old should deal with? How will Seung Hyo go from a total grinch to someone who does this: contemplative![]() I love this drama! ( Enter for the summary in caps )

I have tons of thoughs and images of eps 1-3 of Who Are You, which if it keeps it up, might end up on the list of my all-time favorites. bouncyBut I am sleepy so only a few samples for now: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A few scattered thoughts: (1) Go Ara would have made such a perfect Makino. She has the vibe, the acting ability and she looks the right age! (Yes, I am still bitter about Go Hye Sun who looks soooooo old in the promos); (2) Yoon Kye Sang's character is a total brick-worthy jerk. I wonder if there is a reason for his total lack of emotion and OCD? He is incredibly hot though! (3) The art gallery adjusshi sung 'This is the Moment' from Jeckyll & Hyde. I nearly died.

I have started Who Are You and so far, it's delicious. awake![]() ![]() ![]() ( Caps and summary of awesomeness ) I love this! So, we see where this is going, right? Young In has warmth, spunk, and character, but she is completely broke. Seung Hyo has tons of money and could solve all of Young In's financial problems without blinking, but he has no warmth or connection in his life. Nothing in common -- at least until Young In's soon-to-be-killed father turns into a ghost and decides he can use Seung Hyo's body for a small part of the day :) In other news, a few promo posters for upcoming Iljimae are out and they look gorgeous. I think I might like this version much better than the greatly fanfared Lee Jun Ki version which ended up basically being a Saturday Afternoon Cartoon... ![]() ![]() ( More posters here )

I am enjoying both Star's Lover and Kingdom of the Winds, but both are only couple-eps-a-week watches, as they are currently airing. coldSo I found something on which I can hopefully binge. The delicious-looking Who Are You, starring Go Ara, Yoon Kye Sang, and Kang Nam Gil. ![]() Part mystery, part romance, and part wacky-wacky comedy, WAY sounds delicious. Kang Nam Gil (you have probably seen him as Chae-Gyung's wacky father in Goong) is Son Il Gun, a rather shiftless artist who dies too suddenly (and mysteriously) without resolving any of his pending issues with his daughter, Son Young In (Go Ara). Young In is days from turning twenty and cannot wait to move out of the house. She loves her father but she is exasperated by him, his irresponsibility, his relationship with someone she does not approve of, the works. And then he dies. And here is where Cha Seung Hyo (Yoon Kye Sang. YUUUUM) comes in. Seung Hyo is a rich, obsessive-compulsive 31-year old workaholic who doesn't have the world's most pleasant personality. Conveniently, he also doesn't have any family, as he was adopted in the US when he was small. And as a result of a car accident that he gets into in the first episode -- a freak occurence happens. Il Gun, who has unfinished business with his daughter, is granted the ability to control Seung Hyo's body (basically to posess it) for up to three hours for 49 days, in order to resolve all the stuff he has yet not completed. It's not a bad bargain for Seung Hyo, either -- without this he'd probably be dead. And the wacky, clever, and (I have been promised!) romantic story goes from there... Here is a cool, general MV: Also, this reminds me. I am going to satisfy my unworthiness kink by finishing the other Yoon Kye Sang drama which was excellent in the first few eps I've seen: Crazy For You, where he accidentally runs over heroine's fiance and goes to jail and comes out and falls for her. YUM.

I repeat. ecstaticOh. MY. GOD. I literally let out a (quickly stifled) noise when I read this. Some of you might remember talks, some months ago, about an upcoming Korean drama, Triple, set in the world of figure-skating and starring nobody I ever heard of before or was interested in, but which I was going to watch because...I love figure-skating. Well, some time ago the male lead (whose name escapes me, I think he was a newbie) left, for whatever reason. Then. I knew some time after that they got Lee Seon-Kyun (the guy with the sexiest voice ever, the Other Guy in Coffee Prince) in that drama and I got a bit excited. I like him a lot. If I ever watch Sweet Seoul, it will basically be because of him. So the fact that he was cast got me a bit excited. I won't automatically watch a drama because he is in it, but it is definitely a plus. Then. A few weeks ago, I read they got Yoon Kye-Sang (male lead of Crazy for You, Who are You, Sister-in-Law is 19) to also be in that drama. Now, I got even more excited. I really really like YKS. He is sexy, masculine, and a pretty damn good actor to boot. So I was already predisposed to be quite enthusiastic about Triple. One actor I like, one actor I like A LOT, and figure-skating. THEN. I randomly opened my browser to dramabeans' blog as I do fairly regularly, and what I saw made me seriously hyperventilate. In addition to the two above (both playing ad execs) NOW THEY HAVE KANG JI HWAN AS THE LEAD. I repeat. Kang Ji Hwan. Who happens to be the male lead of two of my all-time favorite kdramas, Capital Scandal and Hong Gil Dong, and who is, bar none, my favorite kdrama actor ever. Oh. My. GOD. All this and figure-skating. At this point, I don't even care if this thing has a plot or who the female lead is (she is an actress I am not familiar with at all, Min Hyo-Rin). Because... GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH. I just might die. (It is totally awesome that the gals at dramabeans are as ecstatic over this as I am!) Also, this is by the PD of Coffee Prince. Whoa. If this goes the way of Daemul (i.e. scrapped because of production issues) I just might kill something.

Am I the only one to hate the heroine of Crazy for You? (I am on ep 3 and she is kicking him out of the mechanic thing because...gasp...he used to work a a valet. WTF? She is also incredibly cold to someone who is desperate. I don't like you, Lady. Also, seriously, you told him to get a legal job and then when he tries you kick him out of it? WTF.). complacentSeriously, Lady, give the Holy Martyr act a rest, and stop wrecking hero's life. Ugh. The last time I disliked a heroine this much was Bull-Fighting and that one at least was a teenager. You are what? 27? 30? You should know better about behaving. We are not even getting into the letter she wrote. Love the drama though.

...unless you go as insane as me and peruse literally 140+ pages of the soompi thread in order to compile these. cheerful![]() For those who don't know, YKS is a 29-year-old actor and former singer. He starred in Crazy for You and My Sister-in-Law is 19, and is currently starring in Who Are You. He also had some movies but am blanking on their names. Oh, and he was a member of G.O.D., an apparently popular, but now defunct, music group. ( Tons of pictures behind cut. I lied! chipperNo All In for me! I have just popped in the first disc of Crazy for You instead, starring Lee Mi-Youn and Yoon Kye-Sang (YUM). Blame I defy not to want to watch this afterwards! Yoon Kye-Sang (who I can tell will be my newest dorama crush) accidentally ends up in a traffic accident which results in the death of the other party. He ends up going to prison and once he is out, he is unemployable. However, he finally ends up being hired by Lee Mi-Youn, and slowly love blossoms between them. However, LMY is a woman whose fiance was fatally hit by a car some years ago... You see where this is going, right? I am about to turn off my laptop and start. Still not convinced? Here is a MV of some photoshoot which basically fetishizes YKS: After seeing this and a video clip of his singing, with spiked hair and earrings, I've decided he would be Haru in my kdrama fantasy casting of Fruits Basket. Hmmm, I need to find out more about him. All I know is that he was in the popular band G.O.D. and in some kdramas I really want to watch (CfY, Sis-in-law is 19, Who Are You), and was the weirdo who went to do his army service early as opposed to all the other stars who seem to (understandably) put it off until last minute. I foresee a picspam in my future... Also, he is my age! YES. ETA: I've started it and OMG. CfY=LOVE. Also, YKS is goooorgeous. Subtitles on my DVD are rather Engrishy, but I am too impatient to wait for download. YES.
