A couple of drama MVs I just found...
2008 is almost over and Hong Gil Dong is still my favorite kdrama of the year: hilarious and heart-breaking, politically fascinating and romantically swoony. If somehow you managed to friend me and yet avoid reading about HGD, it's a 24-ep period drama (though I use that term liberally as it is very tongue-in-cheek with both the sense of time and place and period drama conventions) starring Kang Ji Hwan as Gil Dong, an illegitimate slave son of a noble who is reluctantly drawn into a struggle against a mad king and opressive feudal system, and Sung Yuri as Yi Nok, a slightly dim but good-at-fighting, cheerful, and heart-of-gold medicine peddler with a mysterious and tragic past, as well as Jang Geuk Seuk as the supposedly legitimate and sane heir to the throne his mad half-brother occupies. And I found this MV, which perfectly encapsulates the manic energy of it all which first drew me to it:



And because I adore Sung Yuri, here is her kissing scene with Gong Yoo from One Fine Day, one of my fave kissing scenes in kdramas:

I was just watching parts of HGD the other day :) One of my fave 'quick' scenes remain the one pictured in your icon. The shy way he kissed her cheek was so cute :D

And then when he walks off after it, looking so incredibly pleased with himself for pulling off such an impressive feat :) He is very very boyish in a lot of ways, despite being a gang leader/great fighter/kingmaker :P I bet it's because he never received much affection before. I don't think anyone but someone completely open about her total and uncomplicated liking for him could have gotten through.

ETA: ooops, I am an idiot, I was thinking of an earlier cheek-kissing scene. :P

Which one was that? :D The one I was talking about was after they got 'married.' DID they get married, though? It was sort of implicit from Hwang Bil Dang's conversation, wasn't it.

Absolutely. Thank goodness for fiction - even if it seems as though the girl likes the guy better at first, there's always a happy ending, hahah. I am the few that cannot fault the ending of this drama. To me it was a rather serene ending, in fact, LOL.

Yup, HBD did talk about them being already married. Awwwww.

The ending made sense but still made me bawl :)

Heeee.... I LOVED that scene too. And the blissful, childlike grin both of them have on their faces afterwards (!!) :D I found it hilarious how Yi Nok was dying of embarrassment (and even falling into the well) after Hong Gil Dong first kissed her. Too cute :)

I know, she kept stumbling everywhere, until she got her sunglasses. It was much too adorable! Seriously, they were both about five. If she had had pigtails, he would have pulled them, I bet!

I was so obsessed I had to watch Capital Scandal inbetween while waiting for new eps and subs. And OMG the subs! I remember them stopping coming out for a while, didn't they? I nearly died D:.

Watching dramas while they're airing is a truly scary experience!

Uh oh, I think you've just hooked me on another series. That first MV was excellent - is that song from the drama? I really liked the tune and the weird vocals. Also, all the kissing!

So yeah, I guess I better start downloading. *sigh* Why must my addictions use up all of our internet quota!

I don't think it's from the drama though I do like the soundtrack.

HGD is one of my huge huge favorites so I hope you like!
